PAUL LOY
Paul Reed Loy, 97, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died May 7, 2026 in WVU Wheeling Hospital.
He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on October 3, 1928, a son of the late Robert Enoch Loy and Laura Evans Loy.
Paul was a 1946 graduate of Holloway High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Paul worked as a carpenter for Loy’s Building Center in St. Clairsville. A humble man, Paul enjoyed Sunday drives and shopping at thrift stores. He was a member of the former Lloydsville United Methodist Church and a member of the American Legion Post 159.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenneth and Carl “Bob” Loy; and three sisters, Eleanor Loy, Wilda Crouch and Mary Baldwin.
Paul is survived by nieces and nephews, Barb (Randy) Hemingway, Tom (Kim) Loy, Dan (Sandy) Loy, Mark (Polly) Loy and Dean (Sarah) Loy; dear friend and cousin, Randy (Tina) Hayes; many great nieces and great nephews.
The Loy family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Beacon House, of Amedisys Hospice and of Belmont Manor.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Wednesday from Noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Andrew Thompson officiating. The burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont Ohio.
