ROSE MERRYMAN

She was born on September 1,1932 and was the daughter of the late Steve and Mildred McVicker Holub.

Rose was a 1950 graduate of Bellaire High School where she was crowned the Homecoming Queen. She retired from Sears in the early 90’s after over 30 years of service and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Bellaire, OH.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Merryman in 2011 and her special friend Wilbur Morrison in 2024 as well as sisters Margaret Spoon, Irene Clark, Louise Helms, Linda Phillips and brothers Tom Holub and Bob Holub.

Survivors include one son Vergil (Marilyn) Tubaugh of St Clairsville and two daughters, Tish (Jerry) Kinney of Bridgeport and Sheri “Pip” (John) Vavrek of Bellaire; seven grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Bruce, Jeff (Jill) Tubaugh, Erica (Jason) Miller, Kacie (Justin) Ellis, Ashley (Camden) Dierkes, Justin Kinney, Jessica (Dan) Jasper; thirteen great children; Emma Bruce, Addie and John Tubaugh, Teagan and Deklan Miller, Micah and Luke Ellis, Roen, Beckett and Landrie Dierkes and Kinsley, Kaylee and Kamryn Jasper.

We would like to thank the extremely caring and compassionate staff at both Beacon House assisted living where she spent 8 months and Forest Hills Nursing Home in St. Clairsville where she spent her last six months.

Visitation will be held on May 4, 2026 from 2-8pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th Street, Bellaire OH. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on May 5, 2026 at 11am with Brenda Dunlap officiating. Interment in Belmont Memorial Park, St. Clairsville Ohio.
