George W. Littleton, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026..

Born September 3, 1943, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, George was the son of the late George W. Littleton, Sr. and Velma Catherine (Goldsmith) Littleton Archer. He graduated from Shadyside High School in 1961 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University in 1967.

George devoted 41 years to education, teaching Industrial Arts at New Concord High School, Bellaire High School, and the Belmont County Career Center. He also coached cross country and baseball, taught Driver’s Education, and concluded his career as the Occupational Work Experience Coordinator at the Belmont County Career Center.

An avid outdoorsman, George enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time at his lake house with family and friends. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who enjoyed coaching, supporting the Shadyside Tigers and Pittsburgh Steelers, and cheering on his children and grandchildren at sporting events. He was also a member of American Legion Post 521.

George is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Mick) Grunewald; sons, Brian Littleton and Brent (Michele) Littleton; daughter, Kimberly Littleton (Nick Polsinelli); special friend, Vicky Davis; grandchildren, Nathan and Grace Grunewald and Briar and Piper Littleton; and his faithful companion, Rowdy.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio. A second visitation will occur on July 1st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral services commencing at 11 a.m. Following the service George will be laid to rest at Davis Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
