JOHN CIZESKI
John Anthony Cizeski, 92, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed peacefully at home on June 5, 2026.
He was born in Blaine, Ohio on June 14, 1933, son of the late Anthony and Anna Soczyinska Cizeski.
John served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He was a retired senior manufacturing project engineer from General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio. A faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, John also was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4243 in St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Jingle and her husband, Joseph J. Jingle Sr.
John is survived by his nieces and nephews, Barbara (Richard) Steele of St. Clairsville, OH, Joseph Jingle Jr. of Medina, OH, David (Joyce) Jingle of St. Clairsville, OH, Richard (Lyn) Jingle of Pinehurst, NC and Rosemarie Jingle of Columbus, OH; 12 great-nieces and -nephews and 11 great-great nieces and -nephews.
Family and friends may call at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Monday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held by the Knights of Columbus at 6:45 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, with Father Thomas Chillog the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Blaine, Ohio with Full Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the St. Mary’s Central School, 212 West Main St., St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
