STEPHEN VARGO

He was born on February 7, 1954, in Martins Ferry, OH, to the late Steve and Louise (Stupak) Vargo-Phalen.

Steve was Catholic by faith. He was employed with the Cardinal Operating Plant for 33 years before retirement in 2012.

Steve is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen (Dolfi) Vargo; his son, Steve Emilio (Stephanie) Vargo, of Tiltonsville, OH; his daughter, Tara (Andre) Marques, of Las Vegas; his brothers, Mark (Mindy) Vargo, of Rayland and Ronald (Barbara) Vargo, of Wheeling; his sister, Beth (Jon) Lewis, of Tiltonsville, his grandchildren, Anne Margaret and Scarlett Nicole Vargo and Mason Anthony Marques and baby Marques due in October; his brother in-law, Dennis (Peggy) Dolfi, of Howard, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to Steve and celebrate his life on Thursday, June 18th, from 2-7 pm, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH and on Friday from 10 am until the time of service of 11 am, from the funeral home, with Father William Cross officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, Rayland, OH, in Steve’s name.
