ALBERTA PADYJASEK

Alberta Ann Padyjasek 93, of Colerain passed away Tuesday July 21, 2026, at Liza's Place Valley Hospice South surrounded by her family. She was born April 6, 1933, in Colerain, a daughter of the late Grady and Anna (Walker) Spoon.

She was the owner and operator of Barb's Diner in Martins Ferry, she was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church, and the Ladies Aux. of the Colerain Fire Dept, she was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and loved to travel to Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Padyjasek in 1973, her brothers William "Bill" Spoon, and Jim Spoon and sister Sarah Castilow.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Kathy (George) Cunningham, Rich (Peggy) Padyjasek, Karen (Larry) Kerschenbaum and David (Anna) Padyjasek, her companion of 36 years Roy Lucas, 6 grandchildren Jessica (Ron) McGee, Melissa (Aubrey) Wickes, Jodi Thomas, Traci (Larry) Witzberger, Richie (Sara) Padyjasek, and Eve Kerschenbaum, 5 great grandchildren Maddie, Lindie, June, Jolene, Emma, and Ryder, and also several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home -Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut Street Martins Ferry on July 24, 2026, from 4-7 p.m., services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Joe Ellis officiating, interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
