Ronnie Wendell Brooks, 85, of Powhatan Point, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born October 9, 1940 in Powhatan Point, a son of the late John Kenneth and Margaret Armann Brooks.
Ronnie was retired from the former Ohio Ferro Alloys and the Belmont County Department of Human Services. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Moriah Lodge 105 F & AM, American Legion Post 228, VFW Post 5565 Auxiliary and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Haslam Brooks in 1980; three sisters, Wilda Jackson, Virginia Belle Brooks and Margie Phillips.
Surviving are his children, Daniel (Joelle) Brooks of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Jackie Brooks of Austin, Texas, Cheryl (Mike) Orndorff and Douglas (Lacy) Brooks, both of Powhatan Point; two sisters, Esther Franklin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Abbie Krempasky of Powhatan Point; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-6 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am with Pastor William Coker, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery with full Military Honors conducted by the Powhatan Honor Guard.
