Andrew Michael "Mike" Rose, 84, of Bradenton Florida, passed away on September 12, 2026, in Palmetto, Florida.
Born on September 23, 1941, in Barton, Ohio, a son of the late Andrew and Martha (Koval) Rose.
Mike dedicated his life to education and athletics. He served as a teacher in the Bridgeport Local School District for 17 years, where he inspired countless students with his passion for learning. His commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as he worked as a Research Consultant for the Ohio Education Association, contributing valuable insights to the field.
Mike was also deeply involved in sports, both as an umpire and a coach. He officiated at the Division 1 college level as a baseball umpire, demonstrating his keen understanding of the game. As a coach for the Bridgeport High School baseball team, Mike led his team to become runners-up in the state of Ohio in 1969, a testament to his leadership and dedication.
A man of faith, Mike was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Barton, Ohio, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment.
Mike Rose's legacy will be remembered by those who knew him as a dedicated educator, a passionate sportsman, and a man of deep faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Lynn (Johnson) Rose, children; Michelle Rose (James Bean), Ted (Dana) Rose, Stephanie (Mike) Foley all of Bradenton Florida, sister Virginia (Richard) Polinsky of St. Clairsville Ohio, grandchildren; Casey Rose, Luke & Kylie Foley and Michael Bean.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday September 22, 2026 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 70600 Barton Road, St. Clairsville Ohio 43905. Interment will immediately follow in the St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery in Barton Ohio.
