Donald Steven "Don" Chillog, 94, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at his daughter's home.
He was born in Barton, Ohio on September 21, 1932, a son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Poch Chillog.
Don was a retired machinist and tool and die maker, having been employed with Lash Paving and was a maintenance foreman with Shadyside Stamping and with Consolidation Coal Company. He is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4243 and the Barton VFD. Don was a U. S. Army and U.S. Navy veteran having served his country faithfully for six years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie Ann "Marge" Yablonski Chillog and his grandfather, Steve Poch.
Don is survived by his three children, Mark (Beverly) Chillog, Father Thomas A. Chillog and Janet (David) Berher; five grandchildren, Greg Chillog, Kristi Kirkpatrick, Kari Ann (Michael) Hernandez, Matthew Berher and Jonathan Berher; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, Eric Kirkpatrick, Steven Chillog, Ella Chillog and Alena Chillog; and his longtime companion, Irene Takach Handzel.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday, September 30th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 4 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Service at 8 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville on Thursday, October 1st at 10:30 a.m., with Father Thomas Chillog the celebrant. The burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio, with Full Military Honors conducted by the Moundsville Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Barton Volunteer Fire Department.
