Donald William Sorg, born on October 17, 1943, in Bellaire, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on September 13, 2026, at the age of 82.
Donald dedicated many years of his professional life as a Senior Control Room Operator for First Energy, from which he retired after a long and fulfilling career. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dorothy (Henthorn) Sorg; his father, Donald F. Sorg; and Margarete, the love of his life and the mother of his children.
Donald leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his sons, Donald E. Sorg and wife Janet, and William P. Sorg and wife Candice; his daughter, Shari Jaworski and husband Mike. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Bauknecht- Altmeyer Funeral Home, located at 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, Ohio, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
Donald will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family and his quiet strength. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
