Jacqueline “Jackie” Jean Gretzinger, 96, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1930, in West Wheeling, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Martha Heusel Conaway.
Jackie was a retired salesperson for Kreske's 5 & 10 Store in Martins Ferry. She was a member of the women’s auxiliary American Legion Post 159, AARP, Women's Auxiliary of the Purple Heart of West Virginia, and Mary Reed's Circle Thoburn United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alvin Gretzinger; sister, Mildred Oberdick; infant sister, Juanita Conaway; two brothers, Frank and Kenny Conaway; and a great-great granddaughter, Paisley LaRoche.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Sue (Robert) Dayton of Martins Ferry, Ohio; two bonus daughters, Patty Six and Karen Tarter; two grandchildren, Brandi (Timmy) Bell and Bobby (Emily) Dayton; six great-grandchildren, Alexis Bell, T.J. Bell, Stephen Bell, Levi Bell, Madison Dayton, and Olivia Dayton; three great-great grandchildren, Oaklynn Bell, Timmy “Chip" Bell III, and Reagan Engleman; brother, Richard (Judi) Conaway of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Rev. Jeffrey Croft officiating. Burial will follow in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, Ohio.
