Marilyn Gay Wiggins, of Bellaire, OH, born on February 12, 1936, in Orbiston, OH, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family at WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
A devoted homemaker, Marilyn dedicated her life to her children, who were her greatest joy and priority. Her unwavering love and commitment to her family were evident every day. Her nurturing spirit and gentle guidance shaped the lives of those she held dear, leaving a lasting legacy through her descendants.
Marilyn was a member of the Methodist faith, which served as a foundation for the compassion and kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her life was a testament to quiet strength and unconditional love.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thomas Lawrence Dixon and Robinette Poling Dixon; her husband, Cordell Wiggins, with whom she is now joyfully reunited; her son, Mark Wiggins; and her brother, Thomas Dixon Jr.
Marilyn’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family, including Marilyn VanAman of Clermont, FL; Ash Cordell Wiggins Jr. (Anita) of Shadyside, OH; Ralph Thomas “Pete” Wiggins (Beth) of Bellaire, OH; and Leila (Jim) Overberger of Dillonvale, OH, her sister, Arlene (Gary) Linscott of Lancaster, OH. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who will carry her love and wisdom forward.
Services to honor Marilyn’s life will be held with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes 441 37th St. Bellaire, OH 43906. A service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Marilyn will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bellaire, OH, where they will be together once more.
