Betty Ann Knight, 77, of St. Clairsville, OH., formerly of Piedmont, OH passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Forest Hill Nursing Home, St. Clairsville. She was born March 28, 1947 in Wheeling, WV., a daughter of the late Virgil E. and Mary Katherine Pelkey Burghy. Betty was a retired custodian of the St. Clairsville-Richland School District and a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Evelyn Louise “Sis” Dowdell, 85, of Adena, OH, passed away Sunday Dec. 15, 2024, in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH. Sis was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Bradley, OH, daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Whittaker) Kropka. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked at the Bobbie Brooks Garment Factory in Bellaire, OH. Sis was a member of the Piney Fork Presbyterian Church. Paula Sue (Wisvari) Wiater, 73, of Lansing, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, in Wheeling Hospital. She was born on June 1, 1951, in Bellaire, a daughter of the late Charles and Ann (Cintula) Wisvari. Paula was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s Club. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist for over 40 years at Bellaire Hospital and retired from Wheeling Hospital. She also enjoyed being creative through her crafting. Sharon K. Yemich, 72, of Lakewood, Ohio, died December 11, 2024, in Fairview Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. She was born October 12, 1952, in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of the late John and Marjorie Klosek Yemich. Sharon attended the Fairpoint Grade School and then the Seton Central High School for her Freshman and Sophomore years and then finished her final two years at St. Clairsville High School where she graduated in 1970.
