Alice A Calhoun, 88 of Findlay Township, passed away peacefully at home in the care of her family, on Monday, July 3, 2023. She was born in Emerson, Ohio on March 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Inez Murdock. Alice lived in Mt Pleasant, Ohio for 48 years before moving to Findlay Township. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Homer E. Calhoun. She is the beloved mother of Robert (Teresa) Calhoun, Joyce (Calhoun) Ferguson and the late Lawrence Calhoun; sister of Eleanor Wanty and the late Kenneth and Brodrick Murdock. George David Skelton, 73, of Flushing, Ohio, died July 5, 2023, in Astoria Place, Barnesville, Ohio. He was born September 3, 1949, in Portsmouth, Virginia, a son of Eula Bell Skelton Taylor and the late John D. Skelton. Dave was the retired owner and operator of Ohio Valley Basket and former coal miner at North American Coal #3 Mine. He enjoyed baseball and softball. Betty Jane Hartline Snider, 97, of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully June 27, 2023, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.
