Leasing state lands for resource development

A recent study showed in 2021 alone, the industry generated $55.5 billion for Ohio’s economy.
Allowing leasing on state land will encourage private investment, leading to the growth of businesses and the creation of high-paying jobs across various sectors. The revenue streaming from these programs go towards schools, roads, outdoor recreation and general community wellness.
It is also important to recognize the environmental benefits of supporting responsible and regulated land leasing.
State land exploration conducted in accordance with strict regulations and best industry practices ensures the protection of our environment and natural resources.
With effective oversight and regulation, we can strike a balance between energy production and environmental stewardship.
Ohio is in a unique position as a top producing state to not only help power our communities but ensure a more secure and self-sufficient energy future for our nation. Despite the misinformation being shared, Ohioans know that natural gas is an essential part of our lives and refusing to harness those resources would be a mistake.
