Don’t be fooled, Ohio

J.R. Majewski appears to be betting on Ohioans having a short memory, as he announced this month a plan to take another run at U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur’s seat.

Kaptur, a Democrat, defeated him rather handily last year.

Among the reasons for that defeat was voters’ awareness that Majewski had repeatedly lied to them.

According to Associated Press reports, Majewski claimed that he served in the Air Force in Afghanistan, but public records indicated that he had never deployed there and instead spent six months on a base in Qatar. The AP also discovered Majewski was demoted in the military for driving drunk on an air base. That didn’t match what he’d told voters.

He’s a peddler of unfounded conspiracy theories; and he’s been disrespectful and dishonest with voters.

Now Majewski is hoping those same voters weren’t paying attention and will give him another shot at the 9th Congressional District.

“This campaign is about the working-class citizens of Ohio,” Majewski said.

Odd, given he regards those same working-class citizens with such disdain that he feels comfortable being dishonest with them.

Ohio Republicans will know better this time than to fall for his grift.
