CHEERS to news that the Ohio Department of Transportation has its local fleet of snow removal vehicles ready to go to clear ice and snow from area roadways when the time comes.

JEERS to the fact that a Barnesville tradition had to be canceled due to drought conditions. The Barnesville Fire Department opted not to hold its annual chicken barbecue to comply with the burn ban.

CHEERS to word that Ranch Night BBQ & Concert will return to the Dutton family’s Flushing property next June. The country concert was well received by fans.

JEERS to claims that Shadyside Village Council and the administration are not transparent with the public. It’s an issue members should consider carefully and address if they find the claims have merit.

CHEERS to Bridgeport Exempted Village School District for finding a way to provide free breakfasts and lunches to all students. Youngsters who are not distracted by hunger and bound to gain more from their lessons.

CHEERS to the Flushing American Legion Riders Post 366 for donating $10,000 to Thomas Auto Center’s Military Freedom Tree. The year-round effort aims to benefit veterans during the holidays.

CHEERS to organizers of the 60th Barnesville Pumpkin Festival, which continues through this weekend. It appears to again be a fantastic event.
