Belmont Courts

Dear Editor,

This letter is in reference to the Belmont County Court system consolidation. I hope all of you out there will support the County Commissioners in their effort with this project.

This is a major step in saving Belmont County over $200,000 a year. No one will lose their job over this project. Think of all the places where this money could be used more wisely starting with Children’s Services. That department needs major funding to save children from living in a bad situation. I am also sure the Sheriff’s Department would like to have a few more dollars. There are people out there protecting you.

There is no reason to continue paying expenses at a third court office when two courts can handle everything. Would you want to pay rent on two houses when you only need one to live in? It’s the same thing. Belmont County needs this money in the worst way, and with the retirement of Judge Davis, this is the time to take action.

Now, I know there are at least a couple attorneys out there wanting Judge Davis’s position. Sorry, you guys are attorneys, and I know you are making plenty of money in your law practice, so sit back and wait your turn.

The commissioners are elected into office to do the best they can for our County. That take MONEY.

That also means they have to handle whatever money they do have to the best of their ability to promote Belmont County.

Just Support our Commissioners. It takes all of us.
