Dear Editor,

I want to thank all of those who helped to make possible the recent dedication of the OHS marker in Union Square.

Thanks go out to the American Legion Post #52, V.O.W. and Bellaire Park Commission whose financial contributions helped pay for the Marker. Bellaire Hardware, Mayor Vince and the entire Bennett family for the use of and setup of the tent; Steve Hill for the survey to locate the line; Hughes Xerographics and Micromaid Office Systems for printing posters and flyers; Bauknecht Altmeyer/Strussion for floral arrangements; the 19th Ohio Light Artillery, David Mertz of BTC and students, John Patrone and Baseball team, and Reverend Donald Lawson; First United Methodist Church for chairs and PA system; Gulla’s Lunch for feeding our re-enactors; Larry Siebieda, Paul Hanly, Robert Dodrill and Andy Verhoff as part of the program.

This historic marker, and its dedication, was possible only because each of you cared enough to make it happen.
