Hard work and dedication are attributes that we should all strive for and admire in others.

Strong character and a commitment to do what is right are qualities that are shown as a result of hard work and leadership.

I am writing this letter because I know of no one who embodies these qualities more than Linda Secrest, who is running for State Representative in our district. Linda and I have been together since early childhood. We grew up on the same street, attended school together and have now worked together for the past 32 years side by side. I know what she is made of and I know how much she loves Southeastern Ohio. She has tirelessly made herself known for many years throughout the community as a leader and has raised her family here while building a program from the ground level up. She has dealt with diminishing resources and budgets all while maintaining a high level of healthcare to those in our community needing these services. She has worked in the schools, and with families and communities to bring hope and awareness to the seriousness of drug and alcohol abuse for many years.

As an elected official myself, I know nothing can prepare you for the unexpected circumstances of governing.

You want people in the Statehouse that will do what is right for the people they are there to represent. I can think of no one better suited than Linda to do what is right and stand up for the people she represents.

She is not stuck on party ideals, but on the ideal of making Southeastern Ohio prosper. She will be our voice in the Statehouse, a very strong advocate for us.
