Carrying a Gun

Dear Editor,

Today I read a letter to the editor about concealed carry and that some politician in Columbus that is a nut about allowing anyone over 21 to carry a concealed handgun.

Does this person only want the criminals to carry a concealed handgun and you know they do ? I do not agree that a person doesn’t need the permit or the training as I have the permit and training and I do carry.

The only plus I see that the criminal will not be sure if the person or persons he is about to rob or hurt may also have a handgun. Talking about politicians who are nuts we have a few in Gov’t who would love to take guns off of law abiding citizens and they assume the criminal will also give up their guns, this is where the nut part come in.

With all of the shootings we have had in this Ohio Valley, how many has come from those who have a legal permit to carry a handgun ?

When I carry my handgun, mostly at night, I do not go around feeling like I need to be stupid I just feel I have a way if needed, to protect myself and the loved ones with me. I am really tired of the crime and the drugs and I don’t want to be a victim of either and being older I feel that is always a possibility. Letting people carry without permits nor training is the wrong thing to do, with both I don’t see a problem
