Democratic Party making comeback

Mr. Marple,

I have been reading your letters to the editor every once in a while and have come to the conclusion that you are degrading the Democratic Party that once made your livelihood. If you remember, there is a separation between church and state. Your generous writings about the Bible are welcome, however your mixing of politics and religion will not work. You should know that since the Democrat voters saw to it that you were elected a county official several times.

Being the Democratic Party chair in Belmont County is a job in itself, and one that requires a lot of time working to make the Democrats strong and viable. With the tear down rhetoric you are doing to the party, I am just wondering if you are the Democrat you propose to be.

Sure the Democrats took a real hit in this election cycle, and one we will overcome, however what I request of you is go to church, keep religion in your heart where it should be, and leave the Democratic way of life to grow back to its glory.

Groping and sniveling about the Democratic Party being radicalized is only going to keep ripping holes we are trying to mend and get us back on solid ground.

I am proud to be a Democrat, as you should be!

Phil Wallace

Chairman, Belmont County Democratic Party
