Simple solutions
Dear Editor,
As usual, The Times Leader “Opinion” page contributor Greg Kozera had a great article “Celebrating Earth Day Success.”
The technologies explained are wonderful. The theme of the message (to me) is: let us use sensibilities on our path to a greener earth. Simple things like, quickly help end the deadly, dirty, smoky war with Russia’s stealing of a giant “bread basket” of the earth (Ukraine) and beyond.
Compete with communists for the global markets help … we pollute less.
Oh, and that Russian gas is a blast in our face. And, don’t pollute the USA with illegal aliens and fentanyl drugs (etc.). Make things in our own hemisphere rather than shipping things from Timbuktu (et al).
While in our own front yard we are personally monster polluters! An example is: I bought an electric razor. It came from Germany in a box. The box contain a hard, thick plastic housing that made it nearly impossible to not destroy the box. The plastic was so difficult to open and cut, I nearly found myself headed to the Emergency Room for stitches. This is just a small example of what we all deal with as we consume.
I am all for free markets, but the government would help mother earth immensely by regulating packaging and providing more incentives and value to recycle.
I end this send with this … I must go out on Main St. and collect cigarette butts, paper and plastic cups, tin cans (etc.). I have come to know what products are the best sellers to litterbugs.
“Oh, the humanity.”
