The Trump agenda

Dear Editor,

February 21, 2022 marked the release of former President Donald J. Trump’s new social media platform entitled “Truth Social.” This from an individual who reportedly was responsible for making 30,573 false or misleading statements during his four-year tenure as Chief Executive of our great nation.

The aforementioned social network was said to have opened with approximately 140,000 followers, which is only a relatively small fraction what Mr. Trump had previously on Twitter, from which he had been removed for over a year ago, reportedly began with numerous “technical glitches,” and, as a result, it is believed that the site’s failure may possibly be in jeopardy, is under the supervision of the recently resigned Republican California Congressman Devin Nunes, a longtime Trump sycophant, who left his career in government to become the chief executive officer of the Trump parent company, the Trump Media Technology Group. It is reported that the site should be fully operational in the “near future.”

Also, quite disturbing is former president Trump’s continued insistance that somehow the 2020 U.S. Presidential election was somehow “rigged” against him, even though the U.S. Federal Election Commission has concluded that the aforementioned election was found to be the “most honest and verifiable Presidential election in U.S. history,” as literally all of the numerous audits and court cases completed as a result of the allegation of Mr. Trump and his followers, which have been funded by the U.S. taxpayers, found that no election improprieties ever took place.

In addition, with the recent horrific invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Mr. Trump continues to lavish praise on Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin, referring to him as a savvy leader” and that his (Putin’s) invasion of Ukraine was “genius.”

Recall also that it was Mr. Trump while president, who attempted to blackmail Ukraine into conducting an investigation of his then Democratic presidential opponent Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, by withholding the release of defensive weapons to Ukraine, which had previously been approved by Congress, and for this was impeached by the U.S. Congress.

It sadly seems quite obvious where Mr. Trump’s allegiances lie, and such is quite disturbing indeed.

Obviously Mr. Trump has no plans to respectfully relinquish his perceived position of leadership nationally and/or on the world stage, as other previous U.S. presidents have willful done, no matter what the cost may be to our country, our allies, and the world, as for him his personal “ego” strongly appears to take priority over all else.
