Dear Editor,

Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland, and now Uvalde. Not to name the many others. Our future, our beautiful young children are being slaughtered in their schools while our politicians, namely the Senate, does nothing. They call themselves the world’s greatest legislative body.

I call them, and it is almost entirely the Republicans, gutless cowards who care only for maintaining their power. For years there has been pending legislation that can’t be voted on because it never makes it to the floor.

The Democrats have to stop being so passive. Bring this legislation forward, let the American people see where each senator stands.

Let us see who has our children’s blood on their hands. We are the only country on earth that has this pervasive problem.

More of our young people die of gun related violence than any other cause.

How can an 18-year-old boy buy assault rifles on his birthday and go on a killing spree that will forever change the lives of the families and friends of the slain.

What happens to the little ones who witnessed this horrific act?

Shame on us for tolerating this for so long.

The American people, specifically you ladies, have to rise up and vote out those who allow the killing of your children.

And ladies, isn’t it ironic these are the same men who want to control what you do with your body.
