Reining in corporate greed

Dear Editor,

Gas prices went up forty cents the first week of May; the talking heads of faux news and associated Trump lovers would have you believe it’s all President Biden’s fault.

A realistic explanation for the increase is Russia’s unprovoked war and accompanying inflation of European energy prices.

Our American energy companies are happily using offshore prices to justify their price gouging here. This despite the fact the vast majority of their gas and oil comes from here.

These same companies are posting record profits while contributing generously to the politicians who allow them to continue their profiteering.

The solution is supporting leaders who will enact windfall profit taxes and similar measures to rein in their greed.

Vote Blue!
