Natural Gas Supports SE Ohio
Dear Editor,
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources recently shared a report that shows that the value of oil and natural gas produced in Ohio nearly doubled from 2020. These kinds of numbers are what makes me and the hundreds of thousands who rely on this industry proud to be here in Ohio.
Our natural gas and oil industries in Ohio create royalty payments to landowners, economic opportunities, and jobs.
Before the shale revolution in Southeast Ohio, our region was struggling. But since then, the level of money being invested has created a positive ripple effect for the entire community.
For example, over the past few years multiple new schools have been built as a direct result of new taxes paid from shale development. Had Ohio’s shale industry not happened, this would not have been possible.
As one of hundreds of individuals who benefits from owning mineral rights in Ohio, I hope those making decisions for the state, and in Washington, D.C., see the positive benefits of developing our land’s natural resources and advocate for us.
It is a win for everyone and secures a bright future for our families for generations to come.
The shale revolution in Southeast Ohio benefits not only the holders of the mineral rights and the communities but also contributes greatly toward energy independence, which cannot be ignored or brushed aside by politicians or bureaucrats at the state or federal level.
Thank you for your consideration on this important issue.
