Three years later
Dear Editor,
My husband Terry Long was run over on November 30th and died on December 1st of 2019. It was hard enough for my children and I to watch him pass away but nothing has been done to find the person that ran over him. Terry Long spent almost all of his life in Barnesville and he was loved by many folks in town.
On December 1st we were called into the police station for them to tell us what had happened. After that it seemed like nothing was done. I talked to the assistant prosecutor several times but no one was brought to justice.
My children and I are still suffering and we need someone to step up and find the person that ran over Terry. Our hearts hurt every day for the man that we loved so much.
I am asking for someone to have the fortitude to come forth and do something about this. We feel the pain every single day. When I go to bed at night I still reach out to Terry and he is not there.
I thank the folks in our town for the outpouring of their caring attitude.
The worst part about this is that everything was dropped within two weeks and nothing was ever done. This needs to be opened up and bring the person that ran over Terry to pay for what he did.
I am not a mean person but our family is still suffering and we will not be satisfied until someone has this person brought up on charges for what they have done. We are living in a nightmare and we are asking for help to find this person.
One of the worst things is that Terry had tire tracks on his shirt when he was run over and I thought that they would certainly match the shirt up to the man’s tires that they thought ran over Terry but that never happened.
I hope people will not forget about Terry and will continue to ask law officials to look for the person that did this.
Remember Terry and pray for our family that the powers that be will do something about this. Three years later and nothing has been done to find the person that killed Terry!
