Murder and the Bible

Dear Editor,

It is a sad commentary that I write today.

A woman kills 6 people at a Christian school.

A young male employee kills several people at a bank.

Two juveniles (one age 12) kills three other juveniles.

And senseless murder and mayhem goes on in our largest cities.

What do they all have in common?

In a majority of the cases, they are all younger than 30 years of age. Something evil has happened to generation Z.

We look at the influence of social media. We decry the hand held phones. We shake our heads at the video games which give no value to life.

The young are taught all life came from primordial ooze. They have no nuclear family. They have no father figure. Parents leave them alone in darkened bedrooms or basements to explore worlds we, who are older, would be shocked and horrified to see.

“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God” (2nd Timothy 3:2-5).

These, according to the Bible, are the people of the last days. Even Jesus spoke in Matthew 24 that many would be constantly offended. He also said it would be like the days of “Noah” and of “Lot.” “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” (John 10:10)

This verse is about Satan.

Young people are reflecting in their life what Satan would do. If there is no awakening to this spiritual reality, this nation will wind up on the dust heap of history.

But the good news is this. God allows Satan his end times run, but God will have the final victory. Whether this nation survives or not, the kingdom of Jesus is coming. (Revelation chapters 20-22)

Are you going to be in it or not?

“It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then heals, than falsehood that comforts and then kills.” (Adrian Rogers)
