A grateful community

Dear Editor,

I had the pleasure of witnessing today two of our town workers displaying yet another veteran’s banner for my next door neighbor’s father, a World War II veteran.

Around our proud community our workers have displayed many flags on our streets and over 100 veterans banners, which take a lot of time out of their days of street, water and grass cutting maintenance.

These guys are few in number but do fantastic work to keep our village in working condition and beautiful.

The mound cemetery on Arn Avenue is hilly and difficult to cut, but it looks wonderful. The veterans banners are put up and come down before winter.

Again, a lot of maintenance required.

So residents of Tiltonsville, I ask you to thank them for a job well done when you see them working about. They have pride in doing their jobs, and our village is a reflection of their commitment.

From myself to all of them, I salute you on our nation’s most important holiday (July 4).
