Dear Editor,

What is currently happening in the state of Ohio has me and I’m sure millions of others very concerned. This November, a radical constitutional amendment will appear on your ballot.

It’s called Issue One, and it is an extreme, irreversible expansion of abortion that would outlaw existing, commonsense restrictions. It would allow abortions at any time, by any method and for any reason. Very much like China. Contrary to what you may have heard, Voting NO on Issue One will not BAN abortion, but it will preserve the freedom to apply commonsense restrictions, which will be lost if it passes. That’s because constitutional amendments are nearly impossible to overturn. In Ohio’s history only three of them have ever been repealed and that effort took decades.

Issue 1 also drives a wedge between parents and their children. It allows abortionists to perform abortions on minor girls without their parents’ knowledge. It allows surgeons to mutilate minors’ bodies through sex change procedures. It also allows Planned Parenthood to dispense hormone treatments to minors without parental consent.

Knowing all this, I believe anyone with a soul would come to the conclusion that Issue 1 has to be defeated. I pray you will do your part by voting NO on Issue 1 and telling others to do the same. This is not a time to avoid voting. Our babies have a right to LIFE and parents have a right to keep their children safe. VOTE NO on ISSUE 1!
