The Jordan effect

Dear Editor,

Recently fellow House Republicans overwhelmingly rejected the candidacy of Congressman Jim Jordan, Republican from Ohio, in his bid to assume the vacant position of speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. That was brought about by Congress man Jim Jordan and his close associate Congressman Matt Gaetz, Republican from Florida, and members of their “Freedom Caucus” who led the charge to dismiss then-speaker Kevin McCarthy, Republican from California. Although over 90% of their fellow Republicans approved of McCarthy as speaker, reportedly for his willingness to work with members of both political parties to avoid what would have been a catastrophic shutdown of our federal government.

Congressman Jordan who is undeniably a demagogic Trump acolyte, has served in the U.S. Congress for the past 16 years and has incredibly failed to pass even a single piece of legislation into law during his entire tenure in office to date.

His lack of productivity is simply disgusting and for which he should be held accountable. It strongly appears that Congressman Jordan has spent the half of his time sadly, primarily focused on raising controversies and shameless self-promotion and not legislating. In addition, Congressman Jordan is the co-founder of the House Freedom Caucus, which promotes itself as the conservative spending overseer of our federal government however during the presidency of their de facto leader and role model Donald J. Trump our national debt increased by an astonishing 33% and our federal deficit also increased by a dramatic 40%. Following eight years under Democratic President Barack Obama, which was hypocritical to say the least.

Also, Congressman Jordan played a very active and significant role in attempting to overthrow a very fair and honest presidential election in 2020 and for his efforts was rewarded by the then President Trump with the Presidential Medal of Freedom prior to his leaving office in January 2021 for his involvement in the horrific assault on our nation’s capital on January 6th, 2021.

Ironically Congressman Jordan currenty serves as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee which has elected to investigate the Biden family that he had done previously by grilling Trump’s democratic challenger Hillary Clinton for 11 hours prior to the 2016 presidential election. Also, for political purposes which discovered absolutely nothing that would incriminate Mrs. Clinton.

Funny that congressman Jordan expects those he has suspended to testify before his committees when he himself refused to do so when subpoenaed to testify before the January 6th committee regarding his efforts to attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Congressman Jordan has and continues to prove himself to be extremely hypocritical, unproductive and egotistical. Very much in the Trump mode much to the detriment of our great nation.
