Brown bringing jobs back to Ohio
Dear Editor,
In our region of the Ohio Valley, like many in Eastern and Southeastern Ohio, communities rely on manufacturers like Cleveland Cliffs and their former Weirton tin mill for good paying union jobs. When the mill was idled back in April, it left hundreds of workers, both from Ohio and West Virginia, without jobs.
Sherrod Brown fought to ensure that Ohio companies like Cleveland Cliffs weren’t stopped from creating new jobs because of some critically bad decisions. Thanks to Sherrod’s efforts to stand up to unnecessary bureaucracy, Cleveland Cliffs announced that they are converting that idled mill into a electrical transformer manufacturing plant and bringing 600 jobs back to the area.
Sherrod always has the back of Ohio workers, and working people everywhere, regardless of where they reside. Because of Sherrod’s dedication to Ohio workers, hundreds of Steelworkers in the Ohio Valley, both in Ohio and West Virginia, will have good union jobs again. These are real results that are going to help a lot of people experience the dignity of work and to be better enabled to support their family. That’s what Sherrod Brown does.
