U.S. OPEN
My favorite golf major of the year opens Thursday in Wisconsin. The 117th United States Open will be played at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisc., becoming the 51st course to host golf’s toughest test.
This year’s event will certainly be tough as the course is expected to measure more than 7,800 yards and be the second-longest course in history. Throw in deep rough, ultra fast greens and you can definitely make a course so hard that even the best players in the world have to battle to achieve par.
As for my prediction, a host of players can win this thing. I am going to go with Rory McIlroy to win his second U.S. Open and fourth major overall. I think he will hold off Jordan Spieth and finish at 1-under for the 72 holes.
