Linsly grad earns Ohio Athletic Conference hoop POW for Marietta

MARIETTA — Anthony Wallace is a pretty good basketball player.

He was pretty good at Linsly School and he’s continued into his collegiate career.

Just last season he played a major role in helping to lead Marietta College into the NCAA Tournament and he’s seemingly picked up right where he left off.

Wallace was awarded the first Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week after he helped the Pioneers extend their home winning streak to 39 games with two victories. He was the Pioneers’ leading scorer in both outings, averaging 21 points a game and three rebounds. He had 20 and 22 points and connected on four 3-pointers.

Maybe more impressively was the efficiency with which Wallace scored the ball. He shot 63 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from behind the 3-point line.
