Clegg shines in OSU Scarlet and Gray game

Ohio State baseball began the final portion of its fall season earlier this week with the Scarlet and Gray squads squaring off at Bill Davis Stadium.

The “Scarlet and Gray World Series” is a best-of-five that stretches for the next week.

A pair of Ohio Valley products took part in the game one, which was played Tuesday of this week. The series resumes this evening.

Toronto graduate and former all-Ohioan Nolan Clegg played well for the Scarlet team. He was in the lineup in right field and he went 2-for-3 at the plate.

It was another strong outing for Clegg, who was credited by the Buckeyes’ coaching staff for making the “play of the game” defensively in right field in a game against Dayton. He made a diving catch for the first out in the ninth inning.

Steubenville graduate Alec Taylor was also on the Scarlet roster for this series.
