Lake Erie women win tournament crown in Alaska

If the Lake Erie women’s basketball team decided to stay in Alaska, it would be easy to understand why.

The Storm spent Thanksgiving weekend in the nation’s 49th state, taking part in the North Star Invitational.

Departing Ohio, Lake Erie, which features River grad Lauren Flannery, had yet to win a game but came home with three victories and a tournament championship.

Flannery was a key contributor as the starting point guard. She scored 22 points during the trip, passed out nine assists and grabbed 11 rebounds.
