LaFollette powers Monroe; Shadyside, Bridgeport fall

WOODSFIELD — Ryan LaFollette exploded for a game-high 33 points as Monroe Central scored 50 second-half points in besting Frontier, 65-56, in prep boys’ basketball action Tuesday night.

Logan Pletcher added 15 points for the Seminoles (5-7).

Brent West paced the Cougars with 22 points. Toby Minder added 16 points, while Logan Brookover had 10.

Shenandoah 58, Shadyside 52

AT SHADYSIDE, Nickolai Wickham scored 20 points and Nick Miller added 16 as Shenandoah swept the regular-season series from Shadyside.

Josh Zandron paced the Tigers ((2-8) with 21 points. Kelly Hendershot added 17 points.

Steub. Catholic 63, Bridgeport 46

AT STEUBENVILLE, Donnie Vandeborne scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help Steubenville Catholic race past Bridgeport.

A.J. Connor paced the Crusaders (6-5) with 18 points, while Josh Costello had 11.

Macrae Doyle led the Bulldogs (4-6) with 25 points and 11 boards.

Toronto 74, Wellsville 54

AT TORONTO, Nick Sninchak paced Toronto with 20 points in a victory against rival Wellsville.

Nate Karaffa added 19 points for the Red Knights (8-4), while Jake Keenan scored 17.

GIRLS

East Richland Christian 49, Coshocton Christian 24

AT ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ally Stewart led three players scoring in double figures with 17 points as as East Richland Christian topped Coshocton Christian at Ohio University Eastern.

Kari Ratliff added 16 points for ERC, while Katie Hans had 14.
