Beallsville, Monroe fall on the road

TORONTO — The Toronto football dominated its Friday night game from beginning to end, defeating Beallsville 49-0.

The Red Knights (3-1) began with 29 first-quarter points.Garrett Dozier began the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown run.

Shane Keenan later hauled in a 7-yard TD pass from Caleb Leasure, giving the Red Knights a 14-0 advantage.

Later on in the first, Dozier ran for his second score, this time from 13 yards out. Tristan Thomas then ran it in the end zone from 14 yards out. Ryan Matyas caught the two-point conversion from Zach Stackhouse, giving Toronto a 29-0 lead.

The Red Knights led 35-0 at halftime. The lone score in the second quarter came from Brendan Matyas’ 30-yard TD catch from Leasure, and the PAT failed.

Aiden Mick ran for a 5-yard TD run for the only score in the third, and Devin Corrao’s 24-yard TD grab from Mick closed the scoring in the fourth.

Toronto, who celebrated homecoming on Friday, hosts Crestwood next week.

Caldwell 21, Monroe Central 18

CALDWELL — Point-after conversions proved to be the difference as Caldwell edged Monroe Central at the Noble County Fairgrounds.

The Redskins made three extra-point kicks during the course of the game, while the Seminoles failed on three attempts at 2-point conversions.

Alex Kilburn and Malachi Rose-Burton both recorded touchdown runs for Monroe Central (2-2) on jaunts of 11 and 38 yards, respectively. Rose-Burton also connected with Auston Hogue on a 49-yard touchdown play.

Monroe Central finished with 340 yards of total offense, 178 through the air from Rose-Burton.
