HANNIBAL — Colton Lawrence drained a 3 from the left wing with 2.5 seconds remaining Friday night lifting River to a thrilling 45-44 boys’ basketball victory against Barnesville inside the R.L. Potts Gymnasium.

Lawrence finished with 20 points as the Pilots improved to 5-9 and snapped a two-game losing streak.

Stone Thompson added 10 points for River, which led by six heading into the final quarter.

Luke Powell poured in a game-high 32 points for Barnesville (10-4), which has now dropped three straight after winning three in a row.

Caldwell 60, Beallsville 47

BEALLSVILLE — Bede Lori scored 19 points and Jett Lori added 18 as Caldwell raced past Beallsville.

Matt Kowalsky added 12 points for the Redskins.

Dakota Phillips scored a game-high 24 points for the Blue Devils (5-9). Adam Baker added 11 points.
