Prep Roundup: Bellaire picks up a volleyball win

BRIDGEPORT — The Big Reds posted a sweep over the Bulldogs Wednesday evening, 25-23, 25-15, 25-18.

The Big Reds were led by senior Jayden Lowe’s eight kills and eight digs. Bryanna Beckett had 17 assists, seven digs and two kills. Allie Ault added six aces and eight digs. Georga Schybal recorded three aces, two kills and five digs.

Bridgeport was led by Emmi Felton’s four kills, five digs and six points. Kaylee Bain added three points, two assists and eight digs. Markie McCormick had three points, three assists and two aces. Campbell Kropka posted five points, two aces and three digs. Hannah Graham posted three kills and two digs.

Shenandoah d. Monroe Central, 25-13, 22-25, 25-23, 25-20

SARAHSVILLE — The homestanding Zeps needed four games, but handed the Seminoles their third loss of the season Wednesday.

Monroe Central was led by Kynzi Bishop’s 12 kills. Trista Morris had eight kills and Abby Thompson had six kills and two blocks. Bishop also had seven assists, while Kalista Friday had 13 points and 32 digs. Morris was credited with four points and 26 digs. Regan Hamilton had 11 digs.

Monroe sweeps squad

BEALLSVILLE — Monroe Central won a four-team event Wednesday, capping its regular season. The Seminoles posted a 177 at Switzerland of Ohio Country Club.

Also taking part were Barnesville (180), St. Clairsville (188) and Union Local (196).

Barnesville’s Carter Wells was the match medalist with a round of 41.

Harrison Central sweeps tri

CADIZ — The Huskies shot a solid score of 169, which was 17 shots better than Martins Ferry and 39 better than Steubenville at Cadiz Country Club Wednesday afternoon.

Brooke’s talented senior Ryan Bilby fired a 1-under, 35 for match medalist honors. Harrison Central’s Sam Santille finished even with a 36.
