CADIZ — Harrison Central defeated visiting Ridgewood Saturday in girls high school soccer at Wagner Field.

Jenna Easlick gave the Huskies (2-5-2) a 1-0 lead when she buried a penalty kick in the 21st minute. It was her third tally of the season.

Angi Ferri was able to net a goal at the beginning of the second half, making it 2-0. The assist went to Collette Downs off a give-and-go to Ferri who finished it into the left side of the net. It was Ferri’s team-leading fifth net-finder.

Goalkeeper Britton Positano, along with her defense, completed the shutout. She recorded seven saves on the day.

“We have continued to play our hearts out and are a great bunch of girls to be around,” Harrison Central head coach Mindy Madzia said. “In years past many of the bigger schools have put up a lot of goals on us and they have held them to only five goals against us this year.

“I am proud of their efforts at practice and during the games.”
