Harrison’s Mitchell scores 2,000th career point

CLEVELAND — It was a milestone night for Harrison Central senior Kobe Mitchell Saturday.

The Akron-bound standout came into a game against Olmstead Falls, which was played at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, the home of the NBA’s Cavaliers, needing 21 points for 2,000 during his illustrious prep career. During the fourth quarter, from the line, Mitchell achieved the milestone and eventually finished with 27, giving him 2,006 currently. His current point total ranks 20th in OVAC history. He’s already the Harrison Central all-time leading scorer, regardless of gender.

In the end, however, the Huskies fell to Olmstead Falls, 76-54, despite leading by two at halftime.

Along with Mitchell’s production, Jonathan Vermillion scored 15 points.
