Monroe tops Shadyside in OT
WOODSFIELD — Monroe Central avenged a loss from earlier this season when the Seminoles handed Shadyside a 74-71 setback in overtime Friday.
The game was back-and-forth throughout. Shadyside led by one at half and after three , but the Seminoles tied the game at 66 after four.
It was raining 3-pointers in Woodsfield, too. The teams combined for 20 bonus goals.
Monroe Central was led by Auston Hogue’s 22 and Luke Burkhart’s 20. Malachi Rose-Burton added 11.
Shadyside, which was just 5-of-18 from the foul line, was led by junior Korey Beckett and freshman Ben Wach. Each went for 22, including four bonus goals. Senior Jacob Visnic added 18 for the Tigers.
