St. C. picks up four wins at Barnesville Winter Duals
BARNESVILLE — St. Clairsville rebounded from its lone loss of the season by sweeping four matches at the Barnesville Winter Duals Saturday.
The Red Devils went 4-0 on the day with victories over the host Shamrocks (40-30), Southern Local (60-16), Mayfield (54-30) and Indian Creek (36-35).
St. Clairsville had a trio of wrestlers go undefeated on the day as senior Koen Kish (132) recorded a major decision, a pin and two forfeits. Along the way, the top-ranked wrestler in Division II and Clarion signee registered his 150th career win.
Classmates Reese Skaggs (220) had three pins and a forfeit while Austin DaRe (170) who won a match by disqualification and had two pins in his three bouts.
Senior Caden Stout (145), who had a pair of falls and a win by injury default, recorded his 100th career victory.
Barnesville had a pair of individuals go undefeated as freshman Dakota King (113/120) had two pins, a decision and a forfeit. Senior Cameron Woods (160) recorded a pin, technical fall and decision.
The Shamrocks went 3-1, defeating Southern Local (60-16), Indian Creek (47-30) and Mayfield (45-32).
Mayfield was 2-2 while Indian Creek finished 1-3. Southern Local was 0-4.
Barnesville is back in action Wednesday when it hosts Union Local and Wellsville at 6 p.m. The Shamrocks then host Marion Pleasant on Friday in the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Division III State Duals at 5:30 p.m. St. Clairsville returns to action Thursday when it treks to Indian Creek.
