Shadyside rolls Barnesville in high school baseball action

SHADYSIDE — The Tigers broke out the bats against the Shamrocks to go along with lights out pitching once again in a convincing 10-2 victory.

Mason VanNest picked up the mound win with five strikeouts and two walks. He also had a double.

At the plate, senior Jordan Joseph smacked three singles and drove in a run. Freshman Ben Wach had a pair of doubles and two RBI.

Ryan Florence had three singles and two RBI, while Korey Beckett added three singles and a RBI.

Barnesville received a single and two RBI from Spencer Bliss.

River 8, Union Local 8

HANNIBAL — The Pilots and Jets played to a tie after umpires deemed it too dark to play any extra innings despite it being just 7:23 p.m.

River received three singles from Jake Rose. Brody Lollathin had a single and a double, while Carter Dennis had a triple.

Luke Merritt hit a home run for the Jets. Tre Rex and Dylan Higgenbotham had a double.

Ayden Smolira had two singles and a triple.
