PREP ROUNDUP: Bellaire sweeps Ferry in volleyball
BELLAIRE — The Big Reds broke through and posted a sweep of invading Martins Ferry on Monday by scores of 25-11, 25-21 and 26-24.
The Big Reds were led by Allie Ault’s eight aces, four kills and four digs. Gracelyn Maupin had 19 assists and three aces. Gianna Schmidt donated eight kills and four digs. Brooklynn Zonker added four kills and freshman Zara Harveth had seven digs.
Cambridge sweeps St. C.
CAMBRIDGE — St. Clairsville fell in three sets to the Bobcats by scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-19.
St. Clairsville was led by Alexis Thoburn’s 15 kills, eight digs and two blocks. Shae Brookover had 31 assists and seven digs. Lauren Wasemann had four kills and three digs.
Beaver Local sweeps Harrison
ROGERS — The Beavers cruised past the invading Huskies by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-13.
Harrison was led by McKayla Dunkle’s six kills. Logan Johnson had 13 assists, while Maddy Butler had 15 digs and seven points.
Union Local sweeps Brooke
WELLSBURG — Union Local scored a repeat win over homesteading Brooke on Monday by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-22.
The Jets were led by junior Torre Kildow’s 20 kills, seven digs and two aces. Olivia Whortman had five kills and three digs. Julie Broussard had 12 digs. Keira Gregor had nine kills and eight digs. Kelly Gress handed out 34 assists.
Beallsville upends Rosecrans
BEALLSVILLE — The Blue Devils picked up another win by defeating Rosecrans, 22-25, 25-9, 25-20 and 25-18.
Kaylee Hagan had 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Kinley Hughes had seven assists and three aces, while Alayna Wells posted three kills, five digs and an ace.
Paden City outlasts River
HANNIBAL — The homesteading Wildcats needed five sets, but pulled out the victory over a River squad, which was returning to action after a COVID pause. The Wildcats prevailed by a 25-10, 26-28, 25-19, 22-25 and 15-11 score.
River was led by Hannah Raper’s 14 kills and seven aces, while Rilyn Haught had 11 kills and 16 digs. Kyra Cisar had 11 digs and Chloe Honeycutt had four kills. Paige Barkes had six aces.
Shenandoah sweeps Barnesville
BARNESVILLE — The invading Zeps continued their strong play by sweeping the Shamrocks by scores 25-12, 25-16 and 25-18.
Leading the Shamrocks was Halle Markovich, who had nine kills. Kynlie Cline added 21 digs, while Ava McFarland posted 15 assists and an ace.
SCC sweeps Buckeye
STEUBENVILLE — The Crusaders posted a three-set win over Buckeye Local by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-10.
Pam Kandrach had two kills and six digs. Kassidy George had 15 digs, while Isabella Hepburn had three blocks. Abby Berze had four kills.

St. Clairsville blanks River View
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Red Devils bounced back from their OVAC championship game loss with a resounding 7-0 victory against the Black Bears.
Senior Alyssa Bodkin had five goals, while Gianna Nardo had two goals and an assist. Other assists were recorded by Lanie Gardner, McKenna Booth, Zoey Russell and Emily Thompson had a pair.
Rileigh Wood and Emily Mozena combined for the win in net.
