Bertolino leads Harrison Central by Indian Creek

CADIZ — Nathan Bertolino ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns as Harrison Central defeated Indian Creek 33-23 Friday night at Wagner Field.

The senior had TD runs of 4, 23 and 5. His last score sealed the deal in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore quarterback Hayden Cassidy passed for 133 yards and found Cam McAfee on a 54-yard scoring strike. Cassidy opened the scoring with a 4-yard TD scamper.

Senior placekicker Jace Madzia booted a trio of PATs.

McAfee had an interception while Michael Quito recovered a Redskins’ fumble.

River 35, Conotton Valley 6

BOWERSTOWN — Invading River inched closer to cementing a berth in the Division VII, Region 27 tournament with a 35-6 win over Conotton Valley.

Sophomore quarterback Kabel Isaly threw three touchdowns. Two went to Brody Longwell and the first was to Brody Lollathin. Austin Creamer ran for a 17-yard touchdown and Brayden Straun had a 10-yard scoop and score.

PREP SOCCER

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — St. Clairsville won one and tied one Friday night in high school soccer action on the artificial pitch inside Red Devil Stadium.

The boys knocked off Wheeling Park 2-1 while the girls and Brooke battled to a 2-all draw.

BOYS

Caden Stout scored a goal and assisted on the other as the Red Devils slipped past the visiting Patriots. Jayson Clark netted the other tally and Jack Gasber assisted on Stout’s net-finder. Goalkeeper Shane Jackson finished with seven saves.

Wheeling Park’s goal came on a Brody Wall penalty kick in the second half.

GIRLS

Alyssa Bodkin found the net twice off Emily Thompson assists. Rileigh Wood made eight saves.
