River locks up home playoff game with win at Frontier

BEAVERTON — River scored early and often Friday night in rolling past homestanding Frontier, 56-13, in high school football action.

The Pilots (6-4) put up 18 points in the first quarter and tacked on 23 more in the second to lead 41-7 at the half to cruise past the Cougars (5-3) for their fourth straight win.

Austin Creamer led a ground attack that amassed 391 yards on 40 carries and six touchdowns. He finished with 14 totes for 159 and three TDs on runs of 37, 7 and 44.

Brody Lollathin had a TD run and 2-point run; Brody Longwell a TD catch; Avery Creamer a TD reception; Maddox Mozena a TD run; and Finn Bowers a TD run and 2-point run for River. Zack Hocutt booted TD point-afters and River Thompson caught a 2-point pass.

Kabel Isaly completed seven passes for 115 yards and the two TDs.

The Pilots entered the game ranked in the top 8 in Div. VII, Region 27. The win should allow them to host a first-round playoff game next weekend at Martin Flannery Field. The playoff pairings will be announced on Sunday.
