Monroe Central girls take down Shenandoah, 57-26

Monroe Central 57, Shenandoah 26

WOODSFIELD — The Seminoles (4-1) received 19 points from Mayzie Emery and 12 more from Riley Bettinger in rolling past the visiting Zeps.

Jacey English charted seven steals, five rebounds and five assists while Jadyn Miller added six steals and four assists.

The Seminoles led 21-2 after one quarter and 35-7 at the half.

Cambridge 56, St. Clairsville 43

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Cambridge’s Emma Krise scored 24 points to help the Bobcats defeat the Red Devils on John Jenkins Court.

St. Clairsville was led by 14 points from Kesslee Barrera and 12 from Alaina Schumacher. Barrera hit a trio of 3-pointers to reach her total.

For Cambridge, Krise was joined in double figures by Eva Lamphear (11) and Kiara Murphy (10).

St. Clairsville led 14-9 after the first quarter, but the Bobcats outscored the Red Devils in the second quarter 26-7 to pull away.

Buckeye Local 40, Toronto 36

RAYLAND — The Panthers got back on track Thursday with a home victory over the Red Knights to move to 3-1.

Buckeye Local was led by Pam Kandrach with 15 points and Brynn McKeever with 14. Lizzie Stock, Nyja Short and Sam Ankrom joined their teammates in the scoring column.

Only three players scored for Toronto, all but 11 points coming from Ashton Thomas, who scored 25 points in the loss.

Beallsville 44, Magnolia 31

BEALLSVILLE — The Blue Devils protected their home court against the Blue Eagles, led by senior Kinley Hughes.

Hughes scored 26 points, making two 3-pointers and shooting 10-11 from the foul line.

Megan Robinson joined her in double figures with 10.

Magnolia was led by Sienna McKeever and Gabby Hudson, each with 11.

Boys

WHEELING — The Maroon Knights earned a 1,599 to 1,487 victory over the Cadets as Xavier Millhouse fashioned a 340 series with games of 179 and 161.

Cole Bloomfield had a 157 game while Alex Michalo and Tommy Turak rolled a 268 series.

Girls

The Cadets defeated the Maroon Knights at Rose Bowl Lanes by a score of 1,173 to 994.

Sara Catherine Jackson led Linsly with a 133 game and a 228 series.

Larysa Brothers had a 114 and 211 for Wheeling Central.
